Biography of Jan Neethling
Jan Neethling was born in London in 1938. He studied at the School of Art, Pretoria Technical College between 1958 and 1960 where he met his lifelong mentor, Robert Hodgins, one of his teachers at the College. Neethling worked in advertising until 1967. He participated in numerous group exhibitions in South Africa since 1970 and has had highly successful solo exhibitions in Cape Town and in Johannesburg since 2008. Neethling and Hodgins have had numerous two-person shows at GALLERY AOP since 2001. Neethling lives and works in Midrand, Gauteng.
